Bangalore University is starting a one-year, full-time post graduate diploma in Psychological Counseling from the forthcoming academic year, 2008-2009. There will be four specializations: (A) Child guidance and Counseling; (B) Educational & Career Counseling; (C) Health and HIV/AIDS Counseling and (D) Human resource management training and counseling.
Graduates from any recognized University in India, having studied in a regular course in any one of the following optional subjects: Psychology / Sociology / Social Work / Home Science / Human Resource Development (management); or B.Ed graduates or graduates in any discipline of Rehabilitation Sciences -Doctors (from any medical faculty such as Allopathy, Ayurveda, Unani), Paramedics, Rehabilitation Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists or Audiologists, having scored at least 50% marks in their aggregate (including languages) in their qualifying exam are eligible to apply.
Admission is made based on marks scored in the qualifying examinations and entrance test and interview conducted by the admission committee. Four seats are earmarked for Professionals, sponsored by recognized institutions in the field of Counseling and / International students
Eligible candidates can obtain application form from the Chairperson of the Department of Psychology, Bangalore University on producing the challan of fee paid at state bank of Mysore , Nagarabhavi branch or K.G road branch for Rs 300/- to GM/Cat-II A/ II B/ IIIA/ IIIB and Rs. 150 to SC/ST / Cat –I application forms. Outstation candidates can obtain application forms through post from “Registrar, Bangalore University, Bangalore 560056” by sending a self addressed envelop of A4 size ( affixing a stamp of Rs 50 /-) along with a DD for requisite amount as mentioned above, drawn in favour of ‘Finance Officer, Bangalore University, Bangalore 560056 ‘
